Project Overview

Automated repetitive and time consuming business tasks using Microsoft Power Automate and Power Apps resulting in a measurable reduction in administrative workload and enabling researchers and staff to dedicate more time to research and technical activities. Automations were embedded into existing workflows to ensure adoption and continuity.

The Challenge

Research and operations staff were spending a disproportionate amount of time on manual coordination documentation and approvals. Processes varied between teams and any perceived disruption risked resistance to change which limited the effectiveness of previous improvement efforts.

Approach

Partnered with stakeholders across teams to map current state processes and capture operational constraints before automation. Built Power Automate flows and Power Apps that aligned with existing tools and behaviors rather than forcing new ones. Prioritized change management, clear communication and iterative rollout to minimize resistance to change.

Key Results

25 percent reduction in time spent on administrative tasks
Increased focus on research delivery and technical output
Improved process reliability and consistency
Strong cross team adoption with minimal training required
Reusable automation patterns for future initiatives
